Paneer Khurchan / Cottage Cheese Semi Gravy

Cottage cheese cooked in a semi-dry sauce of onion, tomatoes and bell peppers!

Paneer/cottage cheese- 250 gm, sliced lengthwise 
Onions- 1, thinly sliced
Ginger-garlic paste- 1 tsp
Green chilies- 2, slit lengthwise
Capsicum-1 red and 1 green, julienned
Tomato- 1, julienned
Red chili powder – 1 tbsp
Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
Garam masala – 1 tsp
Aamchur powder – 1 tsp
Kasuri methi-1 tsp
Lemon juice-1 tsp
Fresh cream- 2 tbsp
Jeera – 1 tsp
Salt- To taste
Water- As needed
Ghee- As needed

Method: Heat a pan. Add ghee and jeera, & sauté for a few seconds. Add the sliced onions & capscium and cook until they are translucent. Add ginger garlic paste and green chillies and sauté it for a minute. Add the  tomatoes, spice powders, & salt. Mix well and fry for 5 minutes. Add 1/4 cup water and cook for 3-5 minutes. Add the paneer and mix gently and cook for 3-4 minutes. Add kasuri methi, lemon juice and some fresh cream and mix gently. Cook for another 2 mins. Paneer khurchan is ready to be served hot with paratha or roti. Enjoy!
