New York Strip Steak

An easy steak recipe that tastes like a steakhouse dish, but can be made in the comfort of your own home. This seared New York strip steak is cooked to golden brown & topped with garlic and herb butter.

New York strip steaks -2, 8-10 ounces each
Olive oil- As needed
Black pepper powder- As needed
Salt – To taste
Unsalted butter – As needed
Garlic pods- 4-5, smashed
Fresh thyme – 5 sprigs
Fresh Rosemary – 3 sprigs

Method: Let the steaks sit at room temperature for 20 minutes. Season the steaks on both sides with olive oil, pepper powder, and salt. Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat. Add the oil to the pan. Place the strip steaks in the pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side or until deep golden brown. Add the butter to the pan. Once the butter has melted, add the garlic cloves, rosemary & thyme sprigs to the pan. Fry until well combined. Spoon the butter mixture over the steaks. Remove the pan from flame. Let the steaks rest for 2-3 minutes. Slice the steak and spoon the pan drippings over the steak. Serve immediately and enjoy with mashed potatoes.
