Enjoy the most iconic breakfast dish of Kerala with the tropical flavor of mangoes!
Multigrain puttu powder (readymade) – 2 cups (you can use rice flour too)
Ripe sweet mangoes- 1, roughly chopped
Grated Coconut – 1 cup
Salt – To taste
Lukewarm water – As needed
Method: In a bowl, mix together the puttu powder & salt. To this, sprinkle some lukewarm water little by little and gently mix with your hands, until the powder becomes moist and without lumps. Sprinkle some grated coconut into the mixture and mix well. Keep it aside for 10 minutes.Fill a pressure cooker with 3 cups of water and bring to boil. Take a Puttu maker and place the round perforated disc inside the puttu mould. Place some mango cubes at the bottom of the puttu maker, followed by some grated coconut, then the rice flour, & finally top it with another layer of grated coconut. Place the puttumaker on the pressure cooker, cover with a lid, and steam cook for 5-7 minutes or until the steam start coming out from the puttu maker. Remove it to a plate and serve hot. Serve with more mango pieces and enjoy.
