A baffling name for an appetizer – try these spicy crunchy chicken honeybees that can be served as an entrée or a quick snack for any time of the day!


Boneless chicken – 1 cup
All purpose flour/maida- 1/2 cup
Shallots- 8-10
Green chilies- 2
Ginger-garlic paste- 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala powder- 1/2 tsp
Pepper powder- 1 tsp
Lemon juice- 1 tsp
Salt- To taste
Oil- As needed

Method: In a grinder, add the chicken, shallots, green chilies, ginger-garlic paste, half of the turmeric powder, garam masala powder, pepper powder, lemon juice, & salt. Grind it into a semi-smooth mixture. Transfer to a bowl. Make small size cylindrical balls with the prepared mixture. Keep it aside. In a bowl, add the maida, turmeric powder, salt, and water little by little to form a smooth dough. Flatten the dough and cut into thin strips. Wrap the chicken balls with the strips in the shape of a honey bee. Heat oil in a deep bottomed pan. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken honeybees and fry until crispy & golden brown on all sides. Drain on to paper towel. Munch the honeybees with your favorite dip.
