രുചിയേറും സേമിയ അട / Roasted Vermicelli Wrapped In Banana Leaf & Steamed

Ingredients:
Vermicelli / semiya – 2 cups
Boiled milk – 3-4 cups
Sugar – 1 cup
Grated coconut – 1 cup
Rice flour- 2 tbsp
Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
Raisins – 10-12
Banana leaves – As needed
Ghee/clarified butter – As needed

Method: Heat a nontick pan. Add ghee and fry the raisins. Drain them onto a paper towel and keep aside. To the same pan, add 1 tsp of ghee and the vermicelli and fry until golden brown. Add the milk and cook until the vermicelli softens and the water is almost evaporated. Add sugar, grated coconut, rice flour, and cardamom powder and mix until well combined. Remove from flame. Take a banana leaf and clean well. Place a large scoop of the prepared vermicelli onto the leaf. Garnish with some raisins and fold in the form of a packet. Repeat the process with the remaining vermicelli mixture. Place in a steamer and cook for 8-10 mins. Remove from flame and serve as is or cold.
