രതീഷ് എഴുനേൽക്കു രതീഷ് / Kerala Style Sweet Plantain Fritters with Spicy Beef Curry

Sweet & ripe plantain fritters served with spicy beef curry is an unique combo to the gourmets who are in constant search of new tastes!

 

Ingredients:
Nendrapazham/ripe plantains – 2
All purpose flour/maida – 1-1/2 cups
Rice powder – 1-1/2 tbsp
Dosa batter – 1-1/2 tbsp
Sugar – 4-5 tbsp
Black sesame seeds- 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder- A pinch
Cardamom powder – A pinch
Salt – To taste
Lukewarm water – As needed
Oil – As needed for frying

Method: In a large bowl, mix together the all purpose flour, rice powder, turmeric powder, sugar, & cardamom powder. Add water little by little and mix to form a smooth semi-thick batter without any lumps.  To this batter, add the dosa batter and mix well. Peel the plantains and slice them lengthwise and keep aside. Heat oil in a large kadai or deep bottomed pan. Dip the plantain slices into the prepared batter until evenly coated. Carefully drop the slices into the hot oil. Deep fry on both sides until golden brown in color. Drain them onto a paper towel. Serve hot with tea and beef curry.
