A classic finger food that is hard to resist. Sausage pieces coated in spiced batter and deep fried to give a unique flavor to your teatime snack!
Sausage – 200 g, cut into 1 inch rounds
Onion – 2, thinly sliced
Green chilies – 4, finely chopped
Ginger – 1 inch piece, finely chopped
Chilli powder – 1 tsp
Fennel/perumjeerakam powder – 1 tsp
Besan/gram flour powder- 1 cup
Rice flour – 1/2 cup
Curry leaves – 1 sprig
Salt – As needed
Water- As needed
Oil – As needed for frying
Method: In a bowl, mix together onion, green chilies, ginger, chili powder, fennel powder, besan powder, rice powder, curry leaves, and salt. Add water little by little to make a smooth batter. Into the batter, add the sausage rounds and coat them well with the batter. Heat oil in a pan. Scoop one spoonful of batter with the sausage piece and deep fry until crisp and golden. Serve with tea as an evening snack!
